Creative Music Specialist

Reports To: Music Lead

FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt, Sunday-Thursday

Role Summary: The Creative Music Specialist assists the Music Lead in providing direction and oversight to the music team for Sunday services and special events. They contribute to the innovation and creation of TC's unique sound that supports the Vision and Values of TC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a TC team member, responsible for personal spiritual formation, growing as an Upward, Inward, Outward disciple of Jesus Christ. This will mainly be expressed through the Five Characteristics of a Transformer (worship, connect, serve, give, invite).
  • Responsible for protecting the Culture of TC and for living out the Five C’s—Character, Competency, Catalytic, Collaboration, and Chemistry.
  • Discover, Disciple, Develop and Deploy Music Servant Leaders in accordance with the Vision and Values of Transformation Church.
  • Assists with onboarding, equipping, and shepherding of Servant Leaders.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of existing Music activities and develops new growth opportunities.
  • Collaborates with the Music Lead on departmental planning and projects.
  • Leads stem recordings in collaboration with the Music Lead, Audio Lead, and Music Producer Specialist.
  • Trains and Coaches Servant Leaders in discipleship and leadership development.
  • Assists with scheduling, planning, and programming of weekend services and special events.
  • Identifies new Music opportunities and presents initiatives to the Creative Arts Director.
  • Plans and Implements all aspects of the Music Team for weekend services.
  • Attends and Champions music rehearsals and weekend services.
  • Assists with maintaining TC Music Social Media platforms and creating engaging media content.
  • Uploads and Updates music arrangements in OneDrive/SharePoint and PCO.
  • Assists with special Music Team events such as Greenroom Sessions, Photoshoots, and Live Recordings.
  • Develops, writes, arranges, and performs original music for TC.
  • Leads worship through music and develops others who can lead worship.
  • Directs both vocalists and instrumentalists.
  • Assists with auditions of new vocalists and musicians.
  • Collaborates with TC staff to support ministry events and communication.
  • Other Duties: Will adapt to and fulfill additional responsibilities as necessitated by the requirements of the role.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • TC Membership Requirement: TC staff members must become members of Transformation Church within a reasonable period.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of three years ministry experience required. Bachelor’s degree in music-related field with five years’ experience at pastoral level in ministry context preferred.

Computer/Technical Skills: Exceptional knowledge of music theory, advanced use of musical instruments and equipment. Must have a working understanding of Ableton Live Operation. Intermediate use of Microsoft Office software and MyTC/CCB preferred.

Certificates and Licenses: CPR/AED Certification may be required (provided by Transformation Church).

Supervisory Responsibilities: This role is responsible for the oversight of 25+ Servant Leaders.

Work Environment and Physical Demands: he work environment is generally moderate, with varying lighting conditions and noise levels. Will require occasional lifting and physical movement. Specific vision and manual dexterity abilities are required. Reasonable accommodation can be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
