Teen Groups Lead

Reports To: Director of Next Gen

Team: TC Teens

FLSA Status Full-Time, Exempt, Sunday-Thursday

Role Summary: The Teen Groups Lead is responsible for discovering, developing, and deploying TC Teens and Servant Leaders as they disciple teens with excellence by building teams, and partnering with families as they disciple the students of Transformation Church.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a TC team member, responsible for personal spiritual formation, growing as an Upward, Inward, Outward disciple of Jesus Christ. This will mainly be expressed through the Five Characteristics of a Transformer (worship, connect, serve, give, invite).
  • Responsible for protecting the Culture of TC and for living out the Five C’s—Character, Competency, Catalytic, Collaboration, and Chemistry.
  • Leads by example, consistently discovers, develops, and deploys TC Teens Servant Leaders in alignment with Transformation Church’s vision and values to grow healthy small group ministry.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships with servant leaders through one-on-one meetings, small groups, midsize gatherings, and large group events.
  • Ensure that all TC Teen- related communication, events, and processes align with established protocols and schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Next Gen team to develop and steward the TC Teens budget and resources.
  • Coordinate age-appropriate, sermon-based content that creatively mirrors Transformation Church’s vision and values while supporting the discipleship of students.
  • Plans and executes TC Teens events, such as offsite activities, camps, and parent connects, in collaboration with the Next Gen team.
  • Equips families with needed resources by regularly connecting with parents and students.
  • Other Duties: Will adapt to and fulfill additional assigned responsibilities as necessitated by the requirements of the role.

Additional Requirements:

  • TC Membership Requirement: TC staff members must become members of Transformation Church within a reasonable period.

  • Prerequisites: Christ follower who allows the Holy Spirit to work in and through oneself and lives a life of worship - Upward, Inward, Outward. Affirms and lives out the TC Vision and Values – multiethnic, multigenerational, and mission-shaped. Acts with high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity.
  • Shepherding Heart and Passion for Students and Leaders: Exhibits a God-given calling to shepherd; to lay the foundation of and nurture their Upward relationship with Christ, their understanding of their identity in Christ and how to love others compassionately.
  • Sound Theology: Demonstrates an understanding of and ability to clearly communicate the Gospel in an age-appropriate way which to ensure foundational teaching for students is solid.
  • Strategic Planning and Innovation: Ability to envision, plan, and implement new strategies aligning with TC's growth plan. Strategic implementation to align work with TC goals.
  • Organizational and Project Management Skills: Processes and tracks information effectively. Maintains organization diligently. Prioritizes work efficiently, demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and timely completion of tasks.
  • Action-Oriented: Takes initiative to actively move tasks forward to completion. Initiates action as needed and displays optimism. Efficiently achieves goals with others, builds relationships, and seeks win/win solutions. Thrives in a team-focused environment.
  • Communication: Demonstrates relational skills and emotional intelligence to build trust. Exercises discretion and confidentiality. Communicates clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.

  • Math Ability: Proficient in mathematical calculations, including rates, ratios, and percentages, with graph interpretation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree and three years’ ministry experience preferred. Leadership role experience preferred.
  • Computer/Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point), Asana and church database software.

Certificates and Licenses: CPR/AED Certification may be required (provided by Transformation Church).

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees various teams of Servant Leaders

Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work environment is generally moderate, with varying lighting conditions and noise levels. May require occasional lifting and physical movement. Specific vision and manual dexterity abilities are required. Reasonable accommodation can be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
